The
paper provides a review of the types of economies, as well as the Azerbaijan
economy is analyzed in order to determine its type. The analysis of the
Azerbaijan economy enables to provide some recommendations that will help in
choosing a new economic strategy under the conditions of leaving the
raw-materials-based model for the open diversification model featuring by the
high level of competitiveness.
