Some improvement of the economic situation in Russian agriculture
during the last two-three years have not guarantee its conservation in the
future. The article summarizes the results of the research of the author, who
discovered the symptoms quite probable deterioration in development in the near
future. Shows objective reasons years of lagging productivity of agricultural
labour compared to other sectors, reinforcing dependency of the country, and
the ways of its overcoming. Recommended previously unused now possible
principles and forms of the state support of rural commodity producers. Their
main difference from the existing practice of state protectionism of the
agricultural sector is to strengthen the commitment of agricultural enterprises.
