Zhuravleva G.P., Lvov D.S., Petrakov N.Y. A Proper Textbook in Economic Theory for Higher School.
The article focuses on the modernization in teaching Economic Theory. A new concept of economic education should be
based on new textbooks and study guides aimed at encouraging the creativity and learning activity of students. It is argued that
Economic Theory should be distinguished from Economics. Economic Theory is a synthetical science and a study discipline
which includes classical political economy, neoclassical synthesis (neoclassical and Keynesian theories), economics of
transformation (postindustrial economics, economics of transition, global economy, periphery countries economy). Economic
Theory develops on the basis of the interdisciplinary relations involving sociology, law, psychology, ecology, etc. This attributes
to a better understanding of and a deeper insight into the nature of economic activity. The authors present a new design for
course in Economic Theory.
