Toksanbaeva M.S. «Two Russias»: Socio-economic Inequality across the Types of Urban Localities.
Russian market usually viewed as consolidated is, in fact, territorially fragmented. The standards of living on these fragments are very different. There are numerous cases of social inequality and infringement of basic human rights. The paper focuses on territorial aspect of the inequality, referring to a big and a small town as an example. This inequality which tends to grow, is undermining the basic principles of market development. It is impossible to eliminated it by means of social policy only. Therefore, a change in economic policy is needed.
