Kuznetsov A.V. The New Economy and the New Paradigm.
    The article studies basic hypotheses underling the New Economy concept within the framework of standard economic theory. Empirical data on the US economy suggest that the recent increase of the rate of labour productivity growth and the corresponding rise of economic growth rate were transitive rather than permanent. The old inverse relationship between unemployment and wage inflation is still in place. Nevertheless, the recent advances in information technologies and fast growth of the Internet may have an appreciable influence on macroeconomic variables. Finally, a number of mechanisms of such an influence are proposed.

Afanasyev A.A. Swap and Scrip in the USA During the Great Depression and the First Stage of New Deal.
    The article focuses on such a poorly known problem as expansion of non-monetary transactions in the US economy during the Great Depression. Large barterization turns out to be characteristic not only of the Russian post-centrally-planned economy in the 1990s but also of the USA market economy in the early 1930s. The article presents some facts and data on the use of Swap and circulation of Scrip in the American economy at that time and analyses the causes of non-monetary transactions expansion.

Zoidov K.Kh. Methodological and Conceptual Problems of Developing the Synthetic Theory of Overcoming Transformational Crisis.
    Problems associated with developing the theory of transformational crisis in the Russian economy are considered. Different approaches to crisis situation are appraised. A methodological substantiation of overcoming transformational crisis synthetic theory (OTCST) is made. Basic features of this theory are defined.

Smulov A.M. Contemporary Problems of Interrelations between Industrial Enterprises and Banks.
    Principal factors of the economic growth in Russia in the years 1999–2001 are considered and dominant role of non-investment factors is highlighted. Necessity of the Russian economy investment development is formulated and prospects of bank crediting are outlined. The paper analyzes the principal financial flows generated by interrelations between enterprises and banks and identifies their transformation and deformation under the conditions of Russian quasi-market economy. The author further investigates the reasons for the gap between supply and demand on the credit resources market. The impact of banking potential magnitude on the processes of crediting to industry and economy as a whole is studied.

Lazhentsev V.N. Economic-geographical Aspects of Management of Territorial Development.
    The management of territorial development is determined as a realm of economic-geographical activity. It consists of socio-economic division into districts, regional statistics, geocomputer science, territorial planning and geoexamination. The correlation of these activities is carried out by estimating the properties and qualities of regional economic systems on the basis of scientifically reasonable norms.

Khmyz O.V. Capital Account Liberalization and Economic Crisis.
    Capital account liberalization is an essential engine of economic growth and an important vehicle in helping countries intergate into international capital markets. However, rapid integration of financial markets in the ongoing efforts to adapt IMF surveillance to changing global realities may lead to weakening the resilience of domestic economic and financial systems, problems with balance of payments and, as a result, to crisis that might arise from international financial contagion. A better understanding of international capital markets and capital flows is a crucial input into the deliberations , which requires further work.

Dumnov D.I. On Methodology and Organization of Households Samples Studies.
The paper discusses the methodology of sampling surveys in population statistics and the Russian experience of conducting sampling surveys of households and families over the period of 100 years. The current practice of forming samples and methods of questioning families as well as possibilities of testing sample representation are critically examined. Wider application of group indicators is considered.

Shiobara T. A. «Marxian» Review of the Current Russian Economy.
    The article examines the features of the Russian transition economy after the collapse of the USSR. Basing on non-traditional interpretation of Marxian approach to the analysis of the current economic transformations in Russia, the author concludes that the reforms adjustment would be appropriate in terms of the transition not to the market economy but to the real capitalist economy.

Uegaki A. Foreign Investment in Russian Regions.
    This study considers the empirical relationship between economic growth and foreign investment in Russian regions. The data on several types of foreign investment over the last few years are given. One main result is a considerably sharp division of Russian regions into the receivers of direct and indirect foreign investment. Another main result is the lack of significant correlation between foreign investment and economic growth. The latter result is explained by the pinpoint nature of foreign investment and by the export orientation of investment projects.

Pukhova G.V. The Experience of Using Economical and Mathematical Methods in Light Industry in 1963-1990.
    Introduction of computer technologies to the sectoral and enterprise management of light industry was accompanied by active use of economic-mathematical methods (EMM). The author describes the long-standing experience of EMM application in combination with computer-aided management systems in light industry. Particular attention is given to creating the systems of  mathematical models in this branch. The article discusses the problems arisen, the ways to overcome them and states an  opinion on possible use of EMM in modern management in light industry.

Bondarenko V.M. The Contours of New Methodology of Analysis of the Laws of Human Development.
    The article presents a crucially new methodology of studying the regularities of human society development. The human society as a system in development is considered through the universal criteria of efficiency, i.e. the time period between the origination of one's consumption needs and their repletion.
